No more sickness, no more pain . . . .2/23/07

Dad went to be with the Lord today at 5:02 p.m. He went very peacefully with all of us around his bedside singing, then telling him how much we love him.
We are all doing okay and mom's strength is amazing. God has taken such great care of our family and we thank you all for your prayers for us during this time. We ask that you continue to pray for our family. We love you all so very much. Here is the words to the song we sang to Dad around his bedside. It reminds us to rejoice, knowing that Dad is with Jesus and loved ones gone on before.

What A Day That Will Be

There is coming a day, when no heartache shall come. No more clouds in the sky and no more tears to dim the eye. All is peace forever more, on that happy golden shore. What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be, when my Jesus I shall see. When I look upon his face, the one who saved me by his grace. When he takes me by the hand, and leds me through that promise land, what a day, glorious day that will be.

Ther'll be no sorry there, no more burdens to bear. No more sickness, no more pain, and no more parting over there. And forever I will be with the one who died for me. What a day glorious day that will be.

Lord, thank you for your grace. Thank you for allowing Dad to pass so peacefully into your arms. Thank you for giving us all strength and unity and love for each other. I ask you to guide us and lead us these next few days and provide everything mom needs. We love you and thank you that Dad is with you, in Heaven. . . . . Amen

We just read the message of Howard going home to be with Jesus. We rejoice for him and continue to pray for God's peace that passes all understanding to guard your hearts and minds. We pray for God to comfort you all. We know our sweet Jesus is holding you in His arms of love even now as He has been through it all. One of my Dad's favorite hymns was "It is Well with My Soul". We are thankful Howard could truthfully sing those words and is living it out much more so now as He is in the awesome presence of His Savior. We praise God that many of you can also proclaim in joy, that through God's mighty grace, "It is Well with My Soul". I thank God that we have that blessed hope that we will one day no longer sing "What a Day that Will Be", but what we have sung for years will be eternal reality. We will be in the presence of our Savior, the awesome God, and embrace our Dads in great rejoicing too. We love you all so much and will miss Howard here too. He was a man who showed to others clearly how much he loved his family and his Lord. We pray God will be your guide through each decision and sweet joy in all the days to follow.

Love,

Bret, Laura, Gracelyn, & Gabrielle

Oh Brandi (and Family) I am so sorry to hear this news. Praise God that you know your father is a believer and that he did leave this world peacefully. My heart breaks for you all but I am so blessed by the faith you have shown in the situation. Isn't it good to know your father stands before THE FATHER praising Him and having a GRAND time!? Isn't God good to save us wretched sinners? Continued prayer from us all! We love you!

Dear Sue and family,
You have been continually in our prayers since Bud's accident. I know what you are going through. In reading your updates and letters from friends and family, I had flashbacks of Gene's last days with us. I know you had to make decisions that Bud never wanted you to have to make, just as Gene never wanted us to be in that situation. But with strength that only God can give He gets us through it and through His Word we know where our loved one is and that we will see them again when it is our turn to leave this world. I also know that singing together around their hospital bed brings a peace from God of knowing the glory that they are now enjoying. Praise the Lord for His music!! When there are no words...music can say it all! Praise God from whom all blessings flow! May God bless you and continue to strengthen you.

Love and prayers always,
Kay and Tom

Dear Brandi, John, Lynette, Sue and children, YOu have been in my prayers and I have just today (Tuesday) heard of your dad's passing. I pray that the LORD of mercy and grace will be your comfort and strength during all these days. I rejoice with you that his name is written in the Lamb's book of Life and that today he is resting in his arms...awaiting the arrival of all of you!
We love you and will continue to pray for you. Dave and Marybeth
