John Morgan commercial for Abundant Grace Community Church

This is the church our friends Rick and Lettie attend in Gainesville. John Morgan attends Metro Life Church in Orlando. We are so excited for Abundant Grace Community! They have met in an elementary school for 10 years! What a gift this building will be for not only them but to the community they are reaching out to!

Have you seen this?

This is from Baker's Edge and cost around $35. Here are the benefits to using this pan:
  • Two delicious, chewy edges on every individual serving
  • Patented sidewalls circulate heat evenly throughout the pan
  • Better performance (fewer undercooked middles and burned edges)
  • Sized to fit box mixes and recipes for 9”x9” or 9”x13” pans
  • Premium nonstick coating and round, easy-to-clean corners
  • Durable heavy-gauge cast aluminum construction
  • Recessed handles allow pan to be gripped when turned upside-down
  • Custom spatula and recipes/instructions insert included

I may have to pick myself up one of these. I love the edges on brownies! What about you? This was a great idea and causes me to say "Why didn't I think of that?"

Trusting in Christ through difficult times . . . .

Please pray for our family. We got a call late Friday night that another family member has passed away. Mark was the husband to John's first cousin Angi. He pastored a church in Anderson, Indiana, the one we always went to when we were home for a visit. John just saw Mark a month ago . . . he and Mark did Grandma King's funeral together. Please pray for Mark's sweet wife Angi, who has always been such an example of a Godly wife and mother to me. Pray for his two sons, his daughter-in-law and two precious grandbabies and for John's Aunt Marceil and Uncle Jim who have lost their dear son-in-law and their pastor. He was loved by their church family and this will be such a difficult time for their church body. They will have a very hard time I am sure tomorrow morning coming together to worship with the absence of their dear brother and pastor. This has come as such a shock and we just cannot believe he is gone! We need to be ready to meet Jesus because we just never know when he will call us home! I am thankful I know where Mark Swan is this very moment! Praise Jesus!

An Old Home

I love old homes! I love antiques! When an antique store we go to every now and then here in Crestview said they were closing and opening in a different location, I had no idea it would be so exciting for me. They bought this old 1920's home and opened their antique store in it. When I saw this house I got so excited and couldn't wait to see inside of it. I know . . . I am crazy! People who know me, know I would have a home like this over a brand new one any day. John and I tried twice to go to visit this house but it was closed each time. We found out it is only open from 10-2 each day and we had been there after 2 each time. So the other day the kids and I went. It was such a history lesson for us all. Come to find out, this was Crestview's very first hospital! If you look to the left you will see an added on room with a door. Apparently that is where people would enter to see a doctor. The inside of the house amazed me. You could tell it had some repairs that needed done you could even see damage, mostly in the ceilings, from a roof leak from years past. It had beautiful wood floors! The bedrooms upstairs would make 2 rooms each nowadays. They were huge! The lady and gentleman who were there working were so kind to answer my many questions and were very sweet to us. I told them I would be back, and next time with my husband. It just made my day to see my kids get excited about a piece of history. We all enjoyed seeing all the old charming features of this very old home full of history.

Crestview Starbucks has arrived!

We finally have a Starbucks! And it is a big one at that! We went there today to spend our Starbuck's cards. I don't like coffee but I enjoyed a Chai Tea Latte. It was pretty tasty!

Kristen and John kicking back.

Does this kid wear anything other than Purdue you might ask? Hardly ever! Johnathan is a Purdue fan all the way!

Awe, Nick is such a cutie!

Johanthan opening his card

It was a card that said stuff when you opened it.
It was actually a Napoleon Dynamite card that said:
Happy Birthday to someone with flippin' sweet skills . . . (open the card) LUCKY!
And it has Napoleon saying, you know like nun chuck skills, bow hunting skills, computer hacking skills.
He thought it was pretty funny.

He got a new Wii game!
Well, actually he got two because he put his birthday money together and then bummed
some more from his dad and went to Hollywood Video and bought another one!
He had a great birthday!

Making homemade ice cream - Johnathan's favorite! We bought one machine for Johnathan a few months ago but just the other day Johnathan found another one at the Goodwill Store for $6! What a find! We weren't sure if it worked but bought it for the extra freezer bowl, but to our surprise, it worked! Love finding deals like that!

John was praying for our food and thanking God for Johnathan and the girls laid hands on Johnathan.
They were being funny . . . I know it looks spiritual but it really wasn't! HA! Those girls are hilarious!

Happy 15th Birthday Johnathan!

Happy Birthday Johnathan Brandin! Wow what a year . . . . and it past so quickly! I can't believe you are 15 already. You are becoming such a wonderful young man of God and I am so very proud of you. You have grown so much this past year not only in height (!) but in honoring your parents and obeying. We know that is only by God's grace in your life and your desire to please your Savior. With your father's responsibilities, we have to be gone several nights of the week for different meetings and you make that time away for us effortless by the way you serve your younger brother and sister by taking care of them and watching them while we are gone. We don't have to worry that they are okay because we know you will do a great job! Thank you for serving us in this way. You are a joy to be with and I love to hear you laugh! You always were such a funny kid. One highlight of this past year was when you got baptised. What joy to see you proclaim to all that you were dedicated to serving Jesus Christ. I am so very proud of you! I love you with all my heart!
I wanted to post this picture as well . . . .I love this picture. You have become so good with the little ones in our church body. They love being with you! It has been so fun to watch you grow in your care for the little ones.
I hope you have a wonderful birthday . . .even if you still have to do school! But tonight will be fun! ;o)

Cheesy Chicken Burritos

This recipe is so delicious! It makes ALOT (double batch) so it is great for hospitality. If it is just for your family just cut the recipe in half. Or you could make them and freeze them for another night! This is actually Mrs. Warnick's recipe. YUM!

Ingredients:
  • 8 cups cooked, cut up chicken
  • 2 16 oz. packages of colby-jack shredded cheese
  • 20-24 flour tortillas
  • 2 4 oz. cans of green chilies
  • 8 T. diced onion
  • salt to taste
  • 16 oz. sour cream
  • 4 cans cream of chicken soup
  • 1 1/2 cups milk

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350* F
  • Combine chicken, 16 oz. cheese, green chilies, onion, salt, sour cream and two cans of soup.
  • Warm tortillas and fill with 1/3 - 1/2 cup of mixture, roll and place seam side down in 9x13 pan. (the whole recipe will require 2 pans)
  • Mix remaining 2 cans of soup with milk and pour over roll ups. (If you feel you need more soup mixture, you can add another can with 3/4 cup milk)
  • Bake covered for 30 minutes. Remove cover and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Return to oven for 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.

These freeze well. To do so just freeze roll ups and then add soup topping and cheese topping when ready to eat.
