The day after . . .

Okay, I know this picture is hilarious, with all my hair pulled back, but I was cooking today! Anyway, I wanted to show you what my hubby bought for me! He brought home a dozen of long stem red roses for me! Then he had planned the evening to go shopping, then meet up with a couple (who's anniversary is Tues.) and have dinner and a movie with them. It was SO much fun! We ate dinner at The Grape which is in the Destin Commons. It was delicious! Then we saw Evan Almighty which was such a great movie! Then we walked into Williams- Sonoma and they had aprons on sale half off. I had my eyes on these aprons but they were always too expensive to buy one. So John saw this one and said he wanted to buy it for me. :) You can't tell in the picture but it is so cute with a little ruffle at the bottom. I love it! John did an awesome job planning our anniversary this year as always. Thank you to Lynette and the girls for allowing our kids to come spend the night with you. It was such a wonderful 16th anniversary!

Happy Anniversary John!

Happy Anniversary to my dear, sweet hubby! I can't believe it has been 16 years. I have been with you half of my life! These years have been the best years for me. Though we have walked through many difficulties, God has drawn us closer to Him and to each other through those valleys. You have loved me graciously, sacrificially, redemptively and with understanding. You love me with honor by demonstrating your appreciation, and respect not only when we are alone but when we are with others. Thank you for always telling me how much you appreciate all I do as your helper and mother to your children. Thank you for your leadership over me which by God's grace has led me further into the will and ways of God. Through your leadership I have grown to have a deeper trust for my Savior and am confident that ultimately God is sovereign over all! The past four years I have seen you grow in the ways of Biblical Manhood and you have embraced the calling God has for you as a leader, husband, and father. I have seen you repent not only to me but to our children and showed humility in asking for our forgiveness for not leading Biblically. Since then, our family has changed and grown so much. It is because you are passionately pursuing your Savior and your heart is to glorify Christ in all you do. I love you and cherish you and the family God has given to us. I pray that we have many more years together and that we will always strive to glorify God in all we do. I LOVE YOU MORE EACH DAY! God has been so very good to me!

I'm alive!

I know it has been forever since my last post! Things have been a bit busy in the Lenfestey household this month.
I went with Lynette to pick up Chrissie and Cassie in New Orleans from a MissionX trip they were apart of. I hope to post some pictures on here of that when they download them to my computer. Lynette I couldn't believe the devastation that still exists there. Just driving through on I-10 you could see homes ripped apart and apartment places barely standing. It was like a ghost town in parts. It is so very sad. I cannot imagine what it was like 2 years ago. One of the families who hosted lunch for the team everyday, had just moved into a house to rent (across the street from their home being built) and she said they had been living in and out of families homes and a camper for 2 years! She was so joyful though and you could sense God's presence in her life. She said she was thankful for Katrina and that God was so good to them. That just amazes me! Anyway, even in their neighborhood, there were tons of homes vacant and some with X's on them waiting to be torn down. It is just so sad!
Our church has a contract to purchase almost 8 acres here in Crestview! We are so excited that God has opened the door for this to happen. At closing, the seller is even going to give back to our church almost $100,000 that we are using as our down payment! Who does that? God! So since we are moving to Crestview in the future we needed to change the name of our church because there is 3 other New Life's in Crestview! So our new name is CrossWay Community Church. I love it! John and the pastor have been working so hard at getting everything changed over to our new name. Our new website is http://www.crosswayfl.org/ . Check it out!
One of the reasons they have been working hard at getting it all changed over to our new name is because our church is also being blessed with a MissionX team this week here! We are so excited to be getting a team of 23 people to help spread the name change to our community! We will be going door to door passing out fliers in Crestview, Bluewater, Niceville and Val P. Pray for our church and for this MissionX team that God would open the door for evangelism and that lost would come to know Christ. We have a blog for the MissionX team for Niceville if you are interested. I plan on updating it as I can. It is http://www.mission-x-niceville.blogspot.com/ .
God is so good to us!

We've been busy!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Birthday America!
On July 4, 1776, we claimed our independence from Britain and Democracy was born. I thank God that I get to live in the "land of the free and the home of the brave".
God Bless America!
